Why Bamboo?

Why Bamboo? Because Trees Didn't Sign Up for This.

Every time someone buys conventional toilet paper, a tree gets cut down. Not a fast-growing, renewable, bounces-back-in-three-years kind of plant. An actual tree. One that took decades to grow, supports entire ecosystems, and had absolutely nothing to do with your bathroom routine.

The average person goes through the equivalent of 384 trees in their lifetime, just in toilet paper alone. Let that sink in.

That’s not right, or fair, or frankly, friendly to our planet so we found an all-natural alternative that puts tree paper out to pasture.

Bamboo.

Bamboo Grows Like It Has Something to Prove

Bamboo matures in 3 to 5 years compared to decades for trees. Cut it down, and it keeps growing without replanting. And it grows at a rate that would make even a toddler blush. It's basically the overachiever of the plant world, and we respect that.

Bamboo uses less water—like WAY less water.

Bamboo toilet paper production uses 60% less water and emits 30% fewer greenhouse gases than conventional toilet paper. That's not a rounding error. It’s a meaningful difference every single roll.

Using bamboo means no forests need to be cleared for the comfort of your crack.

Most tree-based toilet paper used in the US is made with virgin wood pulp from the Canadian boreal forest—a critical ecosystem that serves as the lungs of our planet. Our bamboo rolls skip all of that entirely so you can breathe easy when you purchase Potty Mouth. And so can the planet.

Bamboo is cleaner for the planet and cleaner for your behind.

Traditional TP goes through heavy chemical processing — chlorine bleaching, dyes, fragrances, and treatments to look and feel the way it does. Bamboo gets turned into pulp using heat and water with no harsh chemicals, then whitened using hydrogen peroxide or chlorine-free methods. Our rolls are BPA-free and plastic-free because what touches your booty shouldn't be a chemistry experiment.

When it comes to bamboo pulp, “soft” doesn’t need to be added.

Bamboo fibers are naturally smoother than wood fibers, which means bamboo toilet paper feels gentler on your skin. Soft enough for your most sensitive moments. Sturdy enough to actually do the job. That's the whole point.

The Bottom Line

Conventional toilet paper is wasteful, chemically processed, yet somehow still everywhere. Bamboo is renewable, cleaner, and better in basically every way that matters. And Potty Mouth has now made it more fun for your fanny.
